JS2X MID ENGINE SHIFTER INSTRUCTIONS

                    

 

Tighten all bolts and set screws. Rotational link is pre-set and should not need adjustment.

SPECIAL NOTE:JS2 MID ENGINE SHIFTER INSTALLATION SHEET

Rod end on the trans-coupler must be on the slide rod before the mounting procedure.

Remove the hockey stick dust seal. Slide mount bracket on to nose cone. 4 Seat buggies mount faces to the left at approximately 45 degrees. For a single seat chassis

Mount bracket faces to the right. Slide hockey stick seal back in place. If the seal was damaged during removal, replace it with a new seal. DO NOT TIGHTEN BRACKET!

Attach a trans-coupler to the hockey stick. Line up one of the set screws with the notch on the stick. Do top or bottom, whichever your transaxle has. Tighten both set screws.


Tread long rod into connector. Swing mount bracket so that the long arm passes approximately ½ inch under the respective axle boot. The two-seat left axle, single seat right axle. Tighten mount clamp screw.


Weld or roll pin  u-joint too long and short rod. Slide rod ends on short rod. Mounting point of the rod end must allow a minimum of 2 inches of travel to the u-joint. Modify stock shift rod to mate to short rod with step down sleeve provided. Position rod end so that short rod and stock shift rod are aligned with shifter box. Box should be angled slightly to the right for a two-seater, in line with the chassis for a single-seater.
